Teaching literacy. CHANGING LIVES.

Conceived while under the auspices of the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa in 2012, New Drama League was co-designed by Idris Goodwin and
Kent Martin to establish a track for students participating in Louder Than a Bomb-Tulsa to explore longer form narrative writing with guidance from an experienced mentor. New Drama League is a theater and film lab providing equal access to education and resources for students. Offering free and nominal cost writing, performing, and media arts education, it is intended to foster the creation of original work by exemplary young authors. It provides further education on the potential of writing, giving students the opportunity to take their work to the next level. Students work with theater or film professionals as their original scripts are taken from development through production. Projects associated with New Drama League reflect a more visibly diverse landscape in Oklahoma. Various methods of styles and formats are explored to bring fresh perspectives to screens and public spaces. New Drama League will continue on in the future under the OLAA banner.
